SO HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
Players - We have three age groups playing tag/flag
football. These are Junior, 12 - 16; Youth 16 - 18; Senior 18+. If you are
10-11 years old, do not worry (we promise that you will play football), let us
know you are interested and we will sort something out for you. We also highly
encourage parents to get involved in the Junior programme too. If you are a
parent you will find that it is great fun to get involved with your child's team.

speaking, football is a collision sport )
If you are 18 + you can come
down and join the Senior team. There is one team right now and we will
start by inviting teams over from abroad.
However, we may change to 8 man league depending on how things go. American
Football is a physical, aggressive , hard hitting game. You have fun knocking
people over and you have fun tackling them, however, it is a game. . You
will be expected to hit RESPONSIBLY at practise or you WILL NOT PLAY - end of
story.We want to promote this sport in Greece and it is a difficult thing to do
as it is.
Further, in
order to spice up things, we are going to bring highly experienced coaches
from abroad for a few sessions in the near future. This is a wonderful
opportunity to make good contacts (for those of you that want to have a go at
getting to NFL Europe).
Coaching - We have vacant positions for Head Coach. However, if you are a novice coach and you are interested in forming a
new tag/flag football team get in touch with us ASAP. Already, we have had
interest from Thesaloniki. For kitted football, we are looking for
expertise. If you have coached football before this is your big opportunity.
Medical and Physio - Have you got the time to help our athletes protect
themselves from injury, can you assist injured players to recover from the bumps
and bruises?
Administrators - We're always looking for people who can assist in the
running of the organisation. Maybe you're a whiz with figures, or know how to
raise money. Perhaps you're really good at gaining publicity. Perhaps you work
at an insurance company or you are a solicitor. If you have contacts which you
think might be able to help that would be great. Maybe is a politician and can
pull strings...any help would be appreciated and
acknowledged.
Staff - We're looking for game day staff that can assist in a wide
variety of roles, from video camera operators, to statisticians, to chain crew
and ball boys/girls (we try to get the families involved here!)
Sponsors and Philanthropists - Involvement in this sport is costly,
and we are actively seeking sponsorship to assist in the financial aspects of
supporting our activities. Of course, if you are rich and you have nothing to do
with your money this is your chance to do something creative... |
